Us is a couples-conversation app made by CouplesQ. We built it around a simple rule: the answers belong to the two of you, not to us.
Everything you do inside the app — the questions you mark as answered, the pack you choose, your mood selections, your language preference, the in-app history of which questions you've seen — is stored only on your phone, in iOS UserDefaults. None of it is sent to any server.
If you delete the app, that data is gone.
Only three things ever leave your device:
Anonymous usage events — taps and screen visits like "topic opened", "question viewed", "paywall opened". These help us see which packs people enjoy and which questions land. They are sent to PostHog, our analytics provider, attached to a randomly-generated install ID. They do not contain your name, your email, the text of your answers, or any way to identify you across other apps or websites. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites — and we never will. That is why the app does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission.
Purchase confirmations — when you buy the Us Pro lifetime unlock, Apple's StoreKit confirms the purchase to RevenueCat, our payment provider, so we know to unlock Pro content for that install. We see the purchase happened. We do not see your name, email, address, or payment details — Apple handles all of that.
Voice synthesis — when "Read Mode" is on, the question text is converted to speech on-device using the Kokoro neural model. The text never leaves your phone for this; the model runs locally.
That is the complete list. There is no account, no profile, no cloud sync, no contact list access, no microphone, no camera, no location.
Us is for adults in a relationship. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone under 17.
Because we do not collect personal data from you, there is no account to delete, no profile to download. If you want to stop the anonymous usage events from being sent, delete the app — the next install is a fresh, unconnected anonymous ID.
If you want to exercise GDPR or CCPA rights regarding the anonymous usage data attached to your install ID, email a.shiban@gmail.com with the install ID (you can find it in the iOS Settings → Us section in a future build). We will purge any data tagged with that ID within 30 days.
If we change anything material, the new policy will be posted at this URL and the effective date above will change. The app's About screen always shows the latest version.
